Next task…

Here’s my next job for the year, and I can only hope one of the last: the copyedit for Island of the Mad. Onward!

I wish one of those pages was turned up just a little so we could get a peek! I’m an editor and a writer myself, and it’s a long time since I’ve seen a copy edit on paper as opposed to onscreen. Those elastic bands bring back many happy memories of manuscripts going in and out of the house. Happier on the way out, of course.

That slightly curled up corner on the first page is KILLING ME. I can’t help wishing it would curl up a bit more and show us some of the story. Looking forward so much to reading this.

Dear Laurie, i am enjoying re-reading (an re listening to audiobooks) of the Russell/Holmes series in anticipation of ISLAND OF THE MAD. as always your wonderful writing sends me onto other paths…after Letter of Mary i re-read some of the Lord Peter Wimsy series and now i am reading a biography of Dorothy L. Sayers. each one of your books sends me on a “quest” and i LOVE IT! thank you for your wonderful stories. thank you especially for giving us a wonderful heroine in Mary Russell Holmes!

I admire your writing very much, and the spirit of your protagonists. Please keep writing, our society desperately needs more positive energy.
