The November newsletter is about to go out, with the cover for THE ART OF DETECTION and a quizzical photo of yours truly. If you’e2’80’99re not on the mailing list, now would be a good time to sign up. Just click here or go to the web site LaurieRKing.com and click on the newsletter tab. Newsletters go out more or less quarterly, with updates near a publication. And if you’e2’80’99re concerned about being inundated, we don’e2’80’99t give out the mailing list, and you can unsubscribe whenever you like.
The newsletter is a more formal means of communication than this blog, and I try to put stuff in there that doesn’t make it onto the blog (as indeed vice versa.) Feedback via the blog site is always appreciated.
I received your postcard a week ago.
Thank you for taking the time to send it.
Looking forward to the next book.

Feed back…I can never quite figure how to get a new topic introduced without seeming to try to be leading the blog…not my job.
Still this seems so like what we talk about here that I thought now might work.
On the rant list;
Rather than fight endlessly about prayer in schools, and goddess forbid sex education, might we not be better served if we purposefully TAUGHT comparative religion in the schools and then let the children pick.
Perhaps that is why, the letting them pick. Most parents don’t want that type of free thinking in their kids, which fits nicely with the government’s wish.
Still, if only we might. I’d elect you, Laurie to design the curriculum.
And Planned Parenthood to do the other.

More for the rant of a few days ago…
A quote from columnist Molly Ivans on Americans torturing, “Why did we bother to beat the Soviet Union if we were just going to become it? Shame. Shame. Shame.”

More Mary Russell novels, please.
All of your books are page-turners, but absolutely love the Mary Russell ones.
I just received your newsletter and am VERY excited about ‘Art of Detection’. Any ideas when it may reach the UK?
Thanks,
Britlife

Many thanks for another entertaining Newsletter – always a pleasure to see this in my in-box, especially on a Monday morning!
Like the previous poster, I too will await news on the UK edition – please badger A&B to go for May ’06 too! Having said that, I depart these shores for San Francisco on 1st June, so I doubt if I will have my copy in time for the journey – would be great to bring it with me to any event you do in SFO in the first half of next June! I will have to come and buy the US edition as well as the UK one, ESPECIALLY if there is an event and I can buy an autographed copy…!
(Please feel free to tell me whom I have to beg at A&B, though, to get a copy in time!)
All the best, and have a great Thanksgiving.
Chris
