Power up the emergency generators. Everyone… send good thoughts and energy to LRK! Luckily, power outage is probably temporary in any event, but positive energy can’t hurt!
Doc, she needs a little sunshine. Maybe an hour in the garden, someone else’s cooking, a movie. Hot chocolate and visit a from a cat. She should revive with fresh air. Maybe a walk at the beach. No reading until her eyes uncross. You’ll have to be firm with her, Doc.
Hurrah hurrah — you’re done! Now you don’t have to do anything for the rest of your life! Well, at least for a while. Or for a few hours. Or for a few minutes.
Chris, from Edinburgh encouraged/heckled/pestered etc. me to read your books, specifically, to date, the Kate Martinelli series. I got my hands on a 2nd hand copy of “A Grave Talent” and loved it! (And Chris’s thoughts on my tastes were spot on – he deserves a medal for the E/H/P scenario!)
I already own “Night Work”, so I’ve ordered the intervening titles, again 2nd hand, in order to read the books in series.
A great book in “A Grave Talent”, Laurie! There’s crime fiction and there’s crime fiction with depth and substance, which I generally refer to as “with tapestry”. I finished the novel loving all of the characters and I’m now desperate to read more about them.
And I will, my book orders were placed yesterday. I hope you get better recognition in the UK market in the future.
Many, many congrats! Take that well-deserved rest now.
BTW, have re-read Night Work in preparation for TAOD – as brilliant as the first time round, and ***SPOILER *** I’d even forgotten the comic twist with Maj, at the end. Bravo!

Congratulations! Wonderful news.
I hope you do something really nice for yourself now. Like a massage. Or a good dessert. Or both. 🙂
Hurray! It’s done! (well, the first stage anyway..)
Laurie,
I hope your brain’s not too fried to read this.

Congratulations, Laurie! The hardest part is done! Now for the joy of fine-tuning. After a suitable rest, of course. You go, girl! Iris Lady
