Laurie in the skies, with diamonds

I take off today for 21 days in England and Scotland, where I have eight signings, a three-day conference, and research at opposite ends of the country (the top and bottom ends, not side-to-side.) Because I had a whole lot of miles accumulated (I use my British Airways credit card to pay for absolutely everything) and because I put off making my reservations until my family threatened to shove me out and lock the door anyway, and because at that late date there were no business class seats to upgrade into, I have to fly first class.

Oh, sorrow. I only wish I were going to be more awake to appreciate it.

I’ll be in London Friday, staying with family, and there will be a punting expedition on Sunday, weather willing (last weekend the scheduled punt turned into a card game indoors, which if you know my family means it was a monsoon outside, only cold.)

So think of me, sipping champagne at 35,000 feet and snoring.

In that order? Or simultaneously?–because that could be dangerous (not to mention messy). 🙂

Have a great and safe time in the UK.

“…until my family threatened to shove me out and lock the door anyway…”

    Laurie,

As much as I envy you the trip (and I DO!), I envy you having such a generous and loving family who will take care of things at home while you travel for work and for pleasure even more. Good for them. Good for you. And as for First Class…..enjoy every single second of it! Bon voyage.

Safe travels to you! I also envy you this trip. It sounds glorious!
Have fun. Research lots. Write well (or not…some days are like that).

It’s tough; but sombory’s got to do it.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving lady 🙂 Enjoy, and hoist a pint for us (preferably of Guinness, and not of the extra-cold stuff they keep on tap for Americans . . .)

    Bon voyage!

Have a safe trip and you’ve earned it, so enjoy it for us all! Wish I could totally be there…but alas…real life…real job..real responsibilities and new house to deal with!

    Have a spiffy time!

Bon voyage, Laurie! So sorry about your having to suffer First Class, but I know you’ll bear up well to it. Hope you enjoyed a great sleep and that there’s glorious punting weather to welcome you.
    Happy researching and family times!

Welcome back! Hope the journey over was comfortable… yes, more envy heading your way… Have a great time in the UK, I hope it is a big success. Enjoy any ‘time out’ you have, too.

Love the PPP edition of Touchstone, by the way.

    Best,
