Watch what you ask for. I said I was torn between watching the Olympics and not, and man those opening ceremonies sure fill the screen…
Except not. Ten minutes before broadcast, the lights went out chez King. Went on ten minutes after they finished. So I guess Someone Has Spoken. Any neighbors out there who are reading this? I apologize.
Guess I’ll go order the third season of Dr Who, the second season of Eureka, and Torchwood if I can find it, and have a Sci Fi August.
Wow, now that was Divine intervention! I didn’t see one minute as my husband and I traveled to Portland to spend time with our son and his fiancée. Sharing plans for the Oct. wedding and male badinage took up our evening after a lovely dinner at a neighborhood restaurant that would give any of the upscale places in LA a run for their money. It was great fun and I never gave the Olympics a thought. I was too involved with invitations, goodie bags, favors and such. I’m a very fortunate woman, my future daughter-in-law is the daughter I never had, and she is making sure I’m included in everything. Pictures sent via email are great, but seeing everything in person is really special. The Olympics really pale by comparison, no matter where they might have been held.

Wow…eerie… 🙂 .
DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD!!
You go Laurie! Go…and do tell me if you find Captain Jack or Ianto more dashing please….I’ve much to say about Torchwood and Doctor Who. Martha and Donna are the best travelling companions in my opinion, although I do prefer nine to ten. I like ten, but when he gets on that lonely god complex…well…he can be a bummer.
In regard to Torchwood, the second season is much, much better than the first. The characters and storylines are better developed. Both season one and two are on DVD now. You can order them from amazon or BBCAmerica Shop if you wish to purchase them.
There is a third season in the works, but it will only be five episodes and will serve as an arc of some sort to Doctor Who perhaps. I believe the new BBC sci-fi series…Primal somethingrather…starts on BBCA tonight. It involves a time rift as well, but no links to Who or Torchwood as far as I can tell.
Happy Sci-Fi watching!
Oh Carliiinaaaa,
Maybe you should help Laurie’s Sci Fi needs with a Time, Lords, and Country fix… (grinning, ducking, and running)
Nikki, not a huge Dr. Who fan, but seems to be surrounded by Who Fans at every turn
Nikki, nikki, nikki…I’d be more than happy to help if Laurie’s up for it.
In other news, I happened to be looking up something and came across this…in case you have any financial things to work out with Holmes’ bank account.
