First Draft to Proof: The Language of Bees (6)

These are pages six and seven of the final draft of The Language of Bees. The tentative first draft here has a clear sense (to the author, anyway) of where it is going and what needs to take place here, at the beginning, to set the scene for the pages to come.

Rrrgghh! When will I learn? I wasn’t going to read any more. I WILL NOT read the next offering. Will not, I tell you! Nine weeks and 4 days. Maybe your daughter could add one of those little counter thingies so I don’t have to keep checking and calculating!!

La Donna, FYI there is one of those counter thingies on the VBC home page, and on Mary Russell’s MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/maryrussell I check them often. –Alice

    Who is that letter from?!?!

I love the sneak peeks, thanks Mrs. King! It’s so neat to see how your editing process works!

Sorry, I only read the first page. . .

How *does* swarming qualify as madness?

    Oh the suspense….

Debenham’s…I like that. You know there’s a Debenham’s in Jakarta. I purchased a load of socks. I do enjoy the way you integrate a number of contemporary events and advertising all into these two pages. Brilliant and most impressive. Even Leopold and Loeb!

Please tell me Russell is not jealous of said letter!

I hope you and your family are well. All the best! C.
