Hello, goodbye

Print

The preliminary list of LRK sightings is up over on the events page, although we’ll be adding things and we’re still working on the details of May 1-5. I’ll be on tour much of May, and for the first time in, oh, ten years or so, I’m putting together stops on the east coast (If we in California are on the Left Coast, are you guys on the other side of the country the Right Coast?)

The Week Five contest closes today, so if you haven’t worked Marjorie’s ingenious new Holmes and Ruzzle puzzle, do so now and send us the results for a chance to win a set of the first four books, in the beautiful Picador edition, signed. By me. To you.

And, I’m off to Hawaii tomorrow for two weeks, first Left Coast Crime and then ten days of R&R with the family. Actually, it’ll be two weeks of nice warm writer’s retreat, since I intend to maintain my 2000 words-a-day minimum throughout March, but you know, they tell me this Interweb thingy works over there in that foreign country as well, so I may be able to blog and such.

Rumor has it they even speak English. So I can leave behind my Polynesian Dictionary.

Aloha for now.

Well, some of us may be the Right Coast, but according to my daughter I’m far too weird to be the right anything! Of course she’s 12 . . . Happy dances are happening all over the East Coast – Laurie’s coming to see us!!! Yippee!!

I’m keeping my eyes peeled for some of those East Coast locations … the MD/VA/DC area would be perfect! 🙂

So what about the Middle Bit? I realize that BoucherCon is in Indy in October but why wait?? Believe it or not there is something between the coasts!! No shots or dictionary required, and the Interweb thingie works like a charm. We have libraries and bookstores, coffee shops, and lots and lots of readers….

Any appearances while you are in the Aloha State, or will it purely be sun and beach? I must warn you that although it may be warm compared to the mainland, we have been having a chilly snap lately, and a jacket may be welcome in the evenings.

I have no plans for appearances, but if any of you want to wander over to the LCC resort (west side of Kona) I’m happy for evening drinks. Talk to Alice about it.

    Woohoo, Jo-Beth’s!

    (doin’ the happy dance)

I wish you would come to my little corner of the East Coast. 🙁

Hope you have a lovely time in Hawaii!

I’m fervently hoping for an appearance (or two or three — we’re a big state!) in PA.

O! O! Will it be all right if persons show up at the launch in ’20s attire? There’s a decent chance that I can muster 3 such persons, thanks to friend-who-collects-clothes. Would anything untoward occur if this happened again at Vroman’s? Just a thought. :D. Not that I’m excited or theatrical or anything//Meredith

I begged my local indie book shop to ask you over (it’s been ages since I’ve seen you in the Sacramento area…Stockton was a nice change in direction, fewer tolls), but the manager said I was a little late for this year’s book. I’ll have to beg earlier next year, I suppose 😉

Have an excellent time in Hawaii!!

Laurie, extremely chuffed to see you at Left Coast Crime, and I promise, no squealing this time. Honest. I’m calm, totally calm. Merrily

Was I suppose to put something together for LLC? Well, if anyone is interested in a get together let me know and I’ll see what I can do. The conference starts Sunday and runs thru Thursday. Alice
