You know I love you and Alice to death, but I could happily scratch both of your eyes out right about now. Why do some folks have to be eagerly counting down the days until the 21st when spring is at least supposed to be here, when in reality, snow is still a very real threat? GRRR.

Uh, oh . . . that’s a daydream-inducing view if I ever saw one. This may be good, after the year you’ve had. Knowing you, you’ll tuck into your writing each day, regardless, but I hope the view brings pleasure, solace and inspiration, around the writing edges.
@Carlina: I’m not disputing her having earned the break (or Laurie either, for that matter), not at all. Envy just takes me that way sometimes. What can I say? I rarely envy any material thing anyone has, but travel…_that_ I get all crazy about. 😉
Enjoy that distraction while you can and come back to the real world refreshed. (It looks like a poster in a travel agent’s window, BTW)
@Nikki: I don’t get jealous over material things either, but I do over travel. One day, when the kids are older, the ecoomy is better, my parents’ health improves, yada, yada, yada. Keeping the faith.
It looks wonderful – I’v never been to Hawaii (any of the islands) despite 25 years in my full time day job in the travel industry. One day!
Meanwhile, the countdown beckons. I still have the US edition of Language of Bees on order via Amazon UK, although they have now withdrawn the ‘new order’ facility on the US edition, as the UK edition is announced for – wait for it – August! If they cancel my order, I should be in San Francisco at the end of June, and could pick up a copy there, I guess…
My view, too, is more winter white with a fresh dusting this morning. 😉
Enjoy the respite. Life has been dishing out challenges with opportunities for more people than I can count (myself included). I’ll eagerly await The Language of Bees to transport me to another place and time.
I hope that your time in Hawaii will bring peace and solace and strength to face the ‘real’ world – and the next book.

When you have worked for over 40 yrs., put a kid through college, seen him married and have part of your business (property management) in Hawaii you too may get to travel as I do. Travel is my one big vice (if you can call travel a vice). I would rather travel than do many other things.
I’m at an age where many of my friends have retired, but I’m still working and will continue to work for many more years. If I don’t travel now when will I? I don’t want to wake up one day and find I’m too old or too ill to travel and realize my window of opportunity had closed forever. –Alice

Amen, sistah! I shouldn’t really be complaining (even though I still wish I could be on a beach somewhere right now)because I’m planning our July trip to London and Berlin right now. I bought tickets online for 221B Baker Street last night. (squeeeeeee)
