And the event of week seven here at The Fifteen Weeks of Bees (where the buzz is “All bees, all the time”) concerns The Art of the Russellism.

A Sherlockism is one of the pithy sayings Sherlock Holmes was wont to create: There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.” “You see, but do not observe.” “‘The dog did nothing in the night-time.’ ‘That was the curious incident.'”

Mary Russell, too, had a habit of letting fly with these pointed remarks (some of which are appearing on her Twitter posts) but now, her readers have a rare opportunity to put words in that good lady’s mouth. In Russell 10, currently under construction, we need a pithy Russellism (if you can say that three times fast, you’ve had more caffeine than I have.) Topics are flexible, judging entirely subjective by yours truly, since I need to be able to work it into the manuscript. And if we have more than one that I can use, we’ll have more than one prize.

Plus, of course, your name in the acknowledgments page of the book.

So please send us your brilliant ideas (or the silly or startling or…) no later than Thursday, and you could win your chance for immortality.
