Want to win Lunch with Laurie? (or tea, or brunch..?) The Carmel Bach Festival is holding a fund-raiser and auctioning off, among other things, a time with this author.
Here’s their link, the auction finishes August 1st, and the time and place (local to me) is to be worked out.
Ms. King,
Just finished the Mary Russell series. All I can say is “MORE, PLEASE!” I absolutely love the series and your writing. It is amazing to a non-writer how the mind of a writer works. Wonderfully written, always interesting and enjoyable. Sure wish I could win a “tea” with you but since I am in the U.S, it would be difficult to manage. I am off to start checking off other books from the complete list of your works. Thanks again for such wonderful adventures! Polly DeCarlo, Ohio
Hi Polly, the contest is in the US, Monterey Bay area…
What could be better than supporting the arts while having a one on one with Laurie King? Someone is going to be very fortunate. I sure hope it goes for bunches of money. It is charity after all.

Somebody start the bidding for this one HIGH (in dollars, I mean), and may the winner be generous in their final bid.
Too bad its there, I can’t do it 🙁
Crikey!! here I am, sitting in the hotel at the… Carmel Bach Festival and I check the blog and here this is! We’ve gone to this splendid event about 10 times in the past 15 years. If there are other King-a-holics and Bach-aholics present, send me a PM on the VBC! I’ll certainly go bid — at worst maybe I can provoke a higher final result.
Thanks for doing this, Laurie. 🙂 Meredith
oops! Not thinking. I may be gone from here by the time folks read this. but send me the PM anyway if the spirit moves you. And Carmel is a lovely place and the music is superb.//Meredith
I sent in a private bid via email near the opening bid price and was told that the bid is substantially higher now. Sigh, but good luck to the winning bidder 🙂
I have been reading, with exquisite pleasure, your Russell/Holmes series. Never I have seen such intelligent writing….writing that draws one into the world you have created. I like to read at night before bed, and always find it is past midnight before I reluctantly put down the book for the night.
I was pleased to find I live near you, in Capitola…..hi almost neighbor! How wonderful that you are a local ! I am beginning to now read your Kate Martinelli series, also. Different energy, but all the same, intriguing, intelligent and thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you.
