New UK covers!

Pretty new covers from my UK publishers, for the paperbacks available the end of June. (And thanks to all my friends at Facebook who tried to help me with converting to jpeg: it takes a village to raise a blog post!)

I believe the one for Pirate King is actually the original cover for Stevenson’s Treasure Island.

OK, so I am biased – but these are becoming a very asthetically-pleasing collection! Up to 8 with this set of cover designs when we include the yet-to-be seen Garment of Shadows…? (A whole SEVEN WEEKS behind the Bantam edition!!!)

Does this mean that I have to buy new copies although I already have the US editions? I think it does… Such a hardship but they are lovely!

Sorry to be a wet rag, but why did you write The Pirate King? It just doesn’t seem to fit………
Sad to see that the original artist, Howard Pyle, is not credited on the back cover, only the source it was borrowed from. That’s like borrowing an authors words and only crediting the library from which the book was borrowed.
That is odd, isn’t it? Probably the Brit publisher only put down what they knew, which was what the seller had on the image. Things that are beyond copyright often get shortchanged, unfortunately.
