It was very interesting to hear you talk about the connection between your work on “Touchstone” and the tragedy of September 11, 2001. I truly hadn’t thought of it, but I certainly about how little the world has changed in ove eighty years with regards to terrorism.
Now, as a stand alone book and a good one (!), if I were a film producer, I would have snapped up the rights by now for a movie version. If that hasn’t happened yet, the people in Hollywood are even less imaginative thinkers that I give them credit for. Let me be the first to suggest that David Tennant would be a perfect Bennett Grey. Harris will be harder to cast (too bad that Bruce Willis is far too old), but the possibilities are fascinating to think about. And how about Cate Blanchett for Laura?
I had the problem that I read this log through the RSS reader in the Leopard (Mac) mail client. The MP3 file is shown as an attachment, and comes through as an automatic download, not as an (optional) link. Further, Mail doesn’t cache the file, so it downloads every time the post is selected (and you can’t cancel it). Mail hangs for at least a few seconds each time.
I am a child in the matter of RSS, so I can’t say whether this problem is avoidable on your end, or whether it should be reported to Apple as a bug.
Further carping: The sound quality was not what it should be. Not the LRK over-the-phone part. That, I understand. But the announcer’s wraparound was fuzzy. I think it was over-gain and clipping. This may also have harmed the quality of the rest of the recording.
Now, the _content_ of the podcast was excellent, illuminating both author and work. It makes my reading of Touchstone much richer.

Worked great for me, too. It was really nice to put an actual voice with the words on the blog and elsewhere. And, of course, the comments were enlightening and interesting.
Worked fine for me on my ancient (for computer technology) 2001 PC running Windows XP. The comment about her writing about people more than events was thought provoking. Very few writers succeed in doing this as engrossingly as you, Laurie R. King.
