This is Edgars week in New York, and for one of the few years since I proudly became a member of the Mystery Writers of America, I’m not there. I’ll miss my annual get-together with friends like Les Klinger and Lyndsay Faye (and wouldn’t you want to be sitting at their table?) but instead, I’m in Scottsdale, to talk about classic British crime fiction.
