Wow, I really love the character of Clarissa. I have to confess I wasn’t that excited about the idea of reading about Mrs. Hudson’s past but I’m really enjoying it. I get so caught up in Clarissa’s story that when the scene cuts back to what Mary is doing it’s like, “Oh Yeah, I forgot about her”. LOL I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t recognize Holmes at first. I like to high-light the characters in different colors on my Kindle so if I need to go back and remind myself who someone is I can tell immediately what kind of person they were. I use orange for bad guys, blue for the hero, pink for the heroine, and yellow for others. I had to go back a few pages and change the color for Sherlock when I finally recognized him. I love the description of his nose. 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading more of the story today.

Started the book last night after getting back from meeting you at Anderson’s. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the talk and the woman who demonstrated the dressing was excellent as well. What was her name again? Thanks for including her. Now I’m off to make a pot of tea and get back to the book. I hope you enjoyed your time in Naperville.

The amazing lady doing the demonstration was Prof. Caroline Bellios at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.She is the Assistant Director. Wasn’t that great!

I am about 1/4 through The Murder of Mary Russell. Your story and descriptions are amazing again, Laurie. Even down to a character noticing that a lady has recently given up hoop skirts for the bustle. It was noted by the way her hips moved as she made her way toward a seat. On to read even more!
