Beginnings!
Beginnings is out today!
Beginnings is a novella looking at where Kate Martinelli and her family and friends have got to in 2015, eleven years after The Art of Detection. But in fact, the story goes back to the first book in this series, A Grave Talent, when young Inspector Martinelli moves into the Homicide division of the SFPD—a path that started with the death of her kid sister back when Kate was in college.
The story of that loss is one I’ve wanted to explore for a long time, and because 2018 was a year when I was taking my own path—volunteer work and no contracts to fill—this was the time to tell the story.
I greatly enjoyed writing it. I hope you like it.
Now, because this is a publication from Team LRK rather than one of my usual Big Publishing Houses, getting your hands on it is a little more, well, hands on.
What I mean is, you may need to ask your local bookshop to order it.
Get a copy from your local Independent bookseller.
Or have Bookshop Santa Cruz send you a signed copy.
Or ask for it from Amazon
Barnes & Noble and the e-books are coming soon, and there’ll be an audio in the spring.
Do you have any idea if Ingram will handle it? I have several fans who would be disappointed if I didn’t get it for the library.
Laurie – Just wanted to say I loved Beginnings – snagged my copy from Bookshop SC – signed, thank you very much – and read it in a day and a half – a very nice piece of work that tells us more about Kate and her family background which I quite enjoyed
