Jobs Can be Fun
Okay, I’ll admit it: these four Beekeeper’s Apprentice 30th anniversary celebrations I’m planning for next year? Yes, I suppose you have to call it all part of promoting the Russell & Holmes series, but honestly, I’m having just a ridiculous amount of fun with them. The speakers for the events are a kick, tying their topics in to Russell and Holmes is interesting, and I’m playing with the possibilities for special giveaways–such as the “newspapers,” a different one for each event, with articles about that city, the event’s speakers, and the kind of interesting tidbits they call fillers but really, the eye instantly goes to those, doesn’t it?
And now, a logo I’ve made for those four editions of THE TIMES OF RUSSELL & HOLMES newspapers:
Yeah, silliness and special and I’m pretty sure everyone going to one of these events will enjoy everything almost as much as I am.
(Details of the four events are here.)
Lovely! (That was one of my late father’s favorite words, and I enjoy finding excuses to use it.) Will the “newspapers” be available to those of us who can’t attend? I’m sure they’ll be filled with fun backgrounders, to use a good expression from my editing life.
Nope, sorry. At least, they won’t be available for some time after the events–hence, “exclusive”!
(Your best hope is asking a friend who is attending to snag an extra….)
Laurie
Dear Laurie,
I do understand about “exclusives” — after all, I have the word “editor” all over my resume (along with “writer”).
But we Beekeeper’s Apprentices are a friendly lot, aren’t we?
Hmmm. Thanks anyway.
Yours truly (a signoff rarely so true),
Margaret
Wow, 30 years already? The Russell and Holmes series is one I’ve re-read multiple times and will be reading many more. My husband has enjoyed them too.
