Marriage of Mary Russell
Laurie R. King takes readers way back in her bestselling series with this exclusive ebook short story, as Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes embark upon the riskiest adventure of their partnership: their wedding.
Though she cannot entirely discount the effects of the head injuries they were both suffering at the time, Mary Russell is delighted by Sherlock Holmes’s proposal of marriage. After all, they have become partners-in-crime, and she has recently come into her inheritance: what remains but to confirm the union with her mentor-turned-partner with the piece of paper? Russell’s pragmatic side tells her to head straight to the registry office—until Holmes surprises her with a sentimental wish to be married in the chapel of his ancestral manor. There’s just the small issue of ownership: the house is not exactly his, and he is most definitely not welcome there. Of course, such obstacles have never deterred Sherlock Holmes before, and they certainly won’t keep him from concocting an elaborate scheme to evade angry dogs and armed butlers—all in the name of wedded bliss.

PLEASE, a bound, paper copy?
I agree.
Please, please, make a paper copy. Not everyone has access to ebooks!
Like Lilian, I say ebooks are tools of the devil. Please Mum, when can we have an honest print copy?
regards, Bear
Ditto!
Oh dear, last time I asked for a paper copy,,the ebook lovers descended with a passion! To be clear, both modes are fine. Just really like to have books proudly displayed on my many book shelves. So to e-book lovers, TERRIFIC. Just looking for equal opportunity.
I’m with you. I like to have a paper copy in hand.
I agree.
Another tantalizing tidbit. I can hardly wait to read about their marriage.
You’re killing me! I already pre-ordered, and I’m waiting not very patiently. So now you tease…
I think it’s Laurie’s evil twin who keeps posting these teasers. The evil twin loves to torment her readers.
??
Please issue a paper edition. Some people’s eyes have trouble reading extended electronic texts.
For the first time in 32 years, a frustrating bout of ill-health has me housebound for two weeks. So this will be my goal to reach, next week. Can’t wait!
Chris – Entering Mary’s world once more will surely be just the thing to speed your return to robust good health. I can’t wait either!
Thank you!
ebooks are a diminishing contemporary fad – In a paper and card book please.
thank you.
I am with the paper and hold the book and sniff it group. My tablet smells depressingly like electronics. Nothing completes the experience of reading like holding a brand new book and sniffing that incredible scent of ink and paper bound together in joy.
Ditto my request for a paper copy. Mary Russell might be a modern young woman, but she is a creature of the library.
i want a hard copy too. PLEASE
Today’s the 15th! “Marriage” has hit my Kindle! Calloo, Callay!
In a word “Awesome”.
I smiled all the way home on my train commute tonight reading about Mary and Sherlock’s wedding.
Thank you so much for the treat!

i wanted to hug my iPad after finishing this sweet gift! Thanks!
Wonderful tease. Thank you I have been looking for clues about their wedding — was sure I must have overlooked it! Finally glad to have that piece of the puzzle in place. However, the teaser about the first chapter of “The Murder of Mary Russell” has just made longer the time we must wait for it to surface! Thank you, Laurie?
Thanks for the short story which fills in a piece of the Holmes/Russell puzzle. I have been looking for it in the previous novels, convinced I had overlooked it. The tease of Chapter 1 for the next novel makes the brief time we have to wait seem even longer! Auwe. and Thank you, Laurie.
I love, love, love this story. Well done!
