For the Sake of the Game!

Happy Publication Day!

For the Sake of the Game

Another collection of stories “inspired by the Sherlock Holmes canon”—this time by Peter S. Beagle (his is a song!), Rhys Bowen, Reed Farrel Coleman, Jamie Freveletti, Alan Gordon, Gregg Hurwitz, Toni L. P. Kelner, William Kotzwinkle & Joe Servello, Harley Jane Kozak, D. P. Lyle, Weston Ochse, Zoë Sharp, Duane Swierczynski, and F. Paul Wilson.

There’s an excerpt from Harley Jane’s story here at CrimeReads (who also chose it as one of their books you should read this December) and comments on writing Sherlock Holmes by Zoë Sharp, here.

If you’d like Les and me to sign a copy for you (maybe one for someone on your gift list, too…) this Saturday—or join us if you’re within striking distance of Phoenix—order one from The Poisoned Pen. Where we’ll be chatting, nibbling, talking, and giving things away with Dana Stabenow, at 2:00 on December 8.

Or you can get an unsigned one from your local Indie bookshop, or Barnes & Noble, or Amazon.

It’s a hugely fun collection from a typically wide-ranging set of writers, brought to you by the Leslie S. Klinger/Laurie R. King partnership.

Enjoy!

I started reading the first exerpt and went immediately to Amazon to order the stories for my Kindle. A Christmas present to me, but I won’r wait until then to start reading. My son, Rob Rogers, contributed a story in an earlier anthology, so I know I won’t be disappointed. There is magic and comfort in settling down with a character I have loved from childhood. Thank you for your blog!
