A Case of Correspondence: Part 1
Correspondence has come to light between Mary Russell and Other Important People, which will be revealed during the upcoming Twenty Weeks of Buzz. It follows the 1992 (not a typo—those old folks do get around!) tale published last year as MyStory (or, The Case of the Ravening Sherlockians.) The current saga posts in its prose (i.e., legible) version Wednesdays on Russell’s MySpace blog, then as the original documents on Fridays here in Mutterings.
The documents are varied, from re-used picture postcards to formal typed letters. Many seem to have been delivered by messenger service or in envelopes since lost—unfortunate for the sake of our research, but perhaps understandable when one considers the momentous gravity of matters at stake.

I’m getting a crick in my neck trying to read the writing on the back of the stationery. Need to learn to manipulate and rotate the image. The handwriting is lovely, though. I transcribe census records for fun sometimes, and none of the enumerators could spell or write legibly. This is a treat, or would be if I could get it upright.

I had no problem at all reading Russell’s handwriting….I think the main problem you would have is that the writing is so small.
