The truck

Two days until  Garment of Shadows! To keep you busy til then, I’ll be posting images from the book, with tidbits of prose to go along.  You might even want to re-visit these posts after you’ve got your hands on the book.

“The torch revealed that all the wheels were inflated, the tool compartment on the far side was intact, and the cab held the usual complement of steering wheels and gear levers. There was no wind-screen, but then, there never had been.”

I like the image and the text snippet, and I’m really looking forward to the book…but this truck, as was common at the time (for trucks, not cars), has solid tires. There’s nothing to inflate.

Good heavens … don’t tell her that!! She’ll pull all the copies that we are waiting to get our hands on so that they can add an errata slip!! Don’t listen, Laurie!! Move along, nothing to see here.
