Writing retreat

So, day one of a very brief writing retreat: the good is that it’s gray and cool enough that I’m interested in staying indoors summoning words, at least until the sun comes out this afternoon.

The bad is that the house doesn’t seem to have a coffeemaker.

    No Coffee? That seems criminal!
How can anyone expect clear well thought out sentences and paragraphs without coffee?

You should carry with you a one-cup ceramic dripper that you can place over your coffee mug, fit a filter into it, fill with your favorite ground coffee (that you also take–just in case), and pour boiling water over it. That’s how I make my coffee at home so that I always have a fresh cup. You can find them and the filters at Amazon. Before I retired, I always traveled with them and kept one in my office. They’re wonderful! My favorite is made in Japan and has filters specially designed for it.
