It was delightful hearing you speak at San Juan Island’s Grange Hall. I ferried over from Orcas and was tickled with myself for having done so. Thank you for being the sort of feminist who seems to take lesbianism in stride without ignoring its inherent difficulties. You have created wonderful, thoughtful women in your novels. Perhaps you could create a diabetic who stops taking her insulin…
The best surprise was to find you so charming, open and patient. And beautiful.

Lovely post over there! Thank YOU for being so aware of your reading community and providing us with a encouraging and welcoming community. Your attentiveness to us (with the little things) has meant much to many of us so thank you for taking the time, even when there wasn’t any, to answer a question, pop in and “read” us, or share a joke with us.

It is true there are Sherlockians among the VBC, myself being one. I want to thank you and everyone else for being welcoming of that fact. I believe one of the things I’ve been very impressed with over the course of the years is your ability to listen to us (all of us, not just the Sherlockians), accept some of our constructive criticisms, and either integrate them into your WIPs or apologize for them (ie Watson). Thank you for that. It illustrates that you are truly in touch with your audience and concerned about how they perceive your work.

In conclusion, thank you for the stories and the community. I think they have both been successful in helping us all find an outlet in our lives. I know they have inspired all of us in different ways.

My best to you and your family as always! C
