Drum roll please…

9

I hope I may be forgiven for bringing out my drum for a little patter, but-

THE LANGUAGE OF BEES IS NUMBER SIX ON THE INDEPENDENT BOOKSELLERS’ LIST AND NUMBER NINE ON THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER LIST!!!

I’m enormously grateful to all of you who helped on the various Fifteen Weeks of Bees efforts, who spread the word, and who bought the book. This is my first time cracking the top ten, and it’s all down to you. Thank you.

No, Laurie, it’s all down to YOU!

Congratulations. You have earned every bit of it and I could not be happier if I had written the book myself.

Say, lady, I think this is about You and Your Writing, but we are enjoying being along for the ride! And the top 10, yeee ha. //Meredith

While I’m sure the Fifteen Weeks of Bees was a good and effective idea, if the book itself, like the rest of the Kanon, didn’t have it, we wouldn’t be celebrating this event. An overnight success a mere fifteen years in the making. Well done, Laurie!

Hampered by limited internet access, but must try to say how well-deserved this is!! Laurie, the book is so wonderful, I, of course, think all your books deserve to be #1 on the New York Times list. This is the payoff for all the hard work that has gone into The Fifteen Weeks of Bees, but if the book weren’t as good as it is, even that couldn’t garner this type of recognition.

AND I STILL CANNOT GET IT IN MY HOMETOWN! I AM DYING HERE!

However, I talked you up to all five bookstores (most of which have large Mystery sections) and said “But she is a BESTSELLER!” so I trust their negligence in ordering your book will be rectified very soon. One of the bookstore owners is a Russell fan but didn’t know about LANG yet, so he was quite excited when I told him about it as well.

Cannot wait, cannot wait… *does a little skippy dance of glee*

I tried to post something earlier but this cruise ship’s #$##$$%#$@%@$!$$#@$#@$@$ browser will is not letting me post. So, I’m trying again to join the hazzahs of joy over breaking the NY Times top 10. So well deserved.!!

Congrats!!!! Maybe we’ll be able to get the next book even higher on the list…. 🙂

Yee-HAW!!! Hooray for Laurie! The book is very fine indeed. What is new is the recognition! Now the world will bow down, booksellers will fawn, EVERYBODY will buy ALL your books from here on, and if Certain Publishers would kindly reissue some of your earlier ones in hardback, I’d appreciate it. My PBs are falling apart.
