Café le Sélect: 99 Bd de Montparnasse.

From page 219: The Dôme and Rotonde were closed, their tables stacked and dark, but the Select was going strong.  The wild revels had changed, giving way to an air of drunken desperation that made Stuyvesant want to keep his back to the wall.

One of Hemingway’s favorites, the Select stayed open 24 hours a day. Harris Stuyvesant tends to avoid it.

Ah yes … Le Select. Still a popular venue and one where I have enjoyed several good meals over the last few years, including a particularly lively (careful choice of adjective) press dinner hosted by a US defence contractor – no names, no pack drill!
You know, I’m really looking forward the reading ‘The Bones of Paris’ – your teasing trailers have proved a most intriguing taster.

    Cheerz,
